Family Business Norway is excited to invite you to the Nordic Summit in Oslo this June — an opportunity to connect and inspire family business owners from across the Nordic region.

This year, our theme is  Navigating Paradoxes, an exploration of the contradictions, dilemmas, and tough choices that come with owning a family business. Being an owner or a next generation owner is rewarding, but it also comes with its unique challenges. At the summit, we’ll look into several paradoxes faced by family business owners, such as:

Tradition and Innovation – How do we honor the legacy of past generations while ensuring our business remains competitive and future-proof?

Family and Business – How do we make business decisions that may affect family relationships—and vice versa?

Ownership and Management – Should owners be involved in daily operations or bring in external expertise?

Local Roots and Global Expansion – How do we stay true to our local identity and values while taking advantage of international opportunities?

Short-Term Performance and Long-Term Vision – Do we focus on maximizing profits today, or prioritize stability and continuity for future generations?

These paradoxes don’t have simple answers, but through insights, real-life examples, and discussions, we will explore how to navigate them.
